Standard 1. Subject Matter
What is it?
A teacher must understand the central concepts, tools of inquiry, and structures of the disciplines taught and be able to create learning experiences that make these aspects of subject matter meaningful for students.
What I think it means
I understand this standard to mean that, we as professionals need to be able to connect our content, subject matter, and teachings to the students. We need to figure out unique ways to connect with our students, and integrate these into the classroom and the way that I teach. It's important to engage students and keep that engagement in all aspects of the day and in a variety of domain specific classes.
