Mrs. Birdseye's Classroom

I believe that we as educators need to be able to get on the students levels and understand what they are thinking. Asking probing, more open ended questions to understand what is happening as the students are thinking out answers. We, as educators, need to be open to many different strategies - there is not just one answer when teaching. We also need to be able to get to know our students enough to know what makes them tick and what doesn't. We need to be able to break out of our comfort zones and into our courage zones to be able to understand and help students in our classrooms, and structure our environments in a way that they feel comfortable asking for help and asking to be taught a different way.
