Standard 5. Learning Environment
What is it?
A teacher must be able to use an understanding of individual and group motivation and behavior to create learning environments that encourage positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.
What I think
When we have our students, we need to provide an environment that motivates and challenges our students, but also provides a safe learning environment for the students to try something new and push themselves to their full potentials.
We need to get to know our students, starting the first day they enter our classroom. As an educator, learning about students and watching how they interact with others and providing a positive interaction with the students and between the students will continue to nurture their engagement in the classroom setting. Engaging with culturally responsive language and responsive classrooms to help provide a safe place for students.
