Standard 3. Diverse Learners
What is it?
A teacher must understand how students differ in their approaches to learning and create instructional opportunities that are adapted to students with diverse backgrounds and exceptionalities.
What I think
Each student is different, and don't all learn the same way. Some students learn best through lectures and others learn better through hands-on engagement. As educators, we need to know our students well enough, to incorporate a variety of ways to educate and incorporate student experiences in the classroom. Allow time for students to hear what you have to say (mini lesson) and then go out and explore the content on their own.
